Closures
Occasionally the Cathedral, or parts of it, may need to close or only offer restricted access for
a service, special event or day to day maintenance. We try to minimise these periods as much as
we can, as we know that people travel long distances to visit us. As soon as we know about a
closure it will be posted below. Please remember to check for last minute changes prior to
your visit as some events, such as funerals, are only arranged at short notice.
10:30am - 1:00pm 4th October 2008
The Cathedral
- Due to a service taking place there will be restricted access to visitors. The Chapter House (Magna Carta), Shop and Restaurant remain open as normal.
3:30pm 1st November 2008
The Chapter House
- The Chapter House will be closing at 3.30pm today.

11:15am - 1:00pm 13th November 2008
The Cathedral
- Due to a service taking place there will be no visitor access during this time. The Shop, Restaurant and Chapter House (Magna Carta) remain open as normal.
10:30am - 3:00pm 10th December 2008
The Cathedral
- Due to Carol services taking place throughout the day there will be restricted access. Recommended viewing times today will be 1.00-2.00pm and after 3.00pm.
The shop, restaurant and Chapter House all remain open as normal.
9:00am - 11:00am 18th December 2008

- Due to a service taking place there will be restricted access in the Cathedral.
The shop, restaurant and Chapter House all remain open as normal.
