ART FOR ADULTS COURSES IN JULY 2012

The Cathedral's Education Department is running two 'Art for Adults' courses in July. There are painting (pastels) and photography courses which are both focussed on landscapes.

The 2011-2012 Art for Adults programme also covers textile art, printmaking, jewellery making, flower arranging, glass engraving-etching/painting, bookbinding, stone carving and calligraphy.

Wednesday 4 July 10.00am - 4.00pm
A Fresh Look at Landscape using Pastels
Learn how to use pastels to capture and create beautiful landscapes with tutor Annie Campbell. Using the cathedral surroundings or personal experiences as inspiration, experiment with colour, line and tone to convey different moods and develop your own artistic style. All materials provided. Suitable for all levels, £30 per person.

Saturday 7 July, 9.30am - 4.30pm
Landscape Photography
Led by tutor Lillian Newman. Spend the first part of the day learning about the work of landscape photographers and their techniques and then, using the cathedral as a stunning backdrop across the water meadows, put some of these aspects into practice. £30 per person. Suitable for both digital and film users of all levels. NB The course will continue in all weathers so please come suitable attired!
