CONSTABLE AND SALISBURY: THE SOUL OF LANDSCAPE
20 May - 25 September 2011
A major exhibition at Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum
Paintings and drawings of Salisbury and its surroundings have figured in every major overview of Constable's work but they have never been considered as a subject complete in itself. This exhibition will show well-known pictures in context for the first time as well as giving the opportunity to see outstanding lesser-known works. Lenders include the V&A, British Museum, National Gallery London, Tate, Ashmolean Museum, National Trust, Fitzwilliam Museum, National Gallery of Ireland and private collectors.
Salisbury Cathedral features in many of the exhibits and visitors may obtain a combined ticket for Exhibition, Museum and group guided tour of Salisbury Cathedral for £10.75 (adult). Contact: Sara Willis at the Museum on 01722 332151 or visit www.salisburymuseum.org.uk to download a booking form.
NB Combined tickets not available for the period Monday 13 June - Sunday 19 June.
